Privacy policy (GDPR)
1. The data controller
Personal data collected as part of the site's activities, directly at the points of sale, are processed by :

2.Situation
Since May 25, 2018, the new GDPR rules have been in force in all European countries. The GDPR concerns the management and protection of European citizens' personal data.
Our Copernicus Maps website may process your personal data because you use the Copernicus Maps website or/and because you fill in our contact form with your own personal data.
The following data will be processed: surname, first name, e-mail address, telephone number, zip code, city, country. In order to respond to your request.
Copernicus Maps guarantees that your data will be used exclusively to provide you with the most accurate answers possible. And that all security levels have been reinforced to meet the requirements of GDPR.
3. Email
Copernicus Maps only sends e-mails to plan deliveries, adjust offers and/or orders and to inform you of our exclusive customer offers. In the case of newsletters, you can always ask for your e-mail address to be removed from our database.
4. Quotations and orders
The personal data you provide when placing a quotation or an order is used exclusively to process the quotation or order. Your first and last name for billing, address for delivery and invoicing, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses coordinated with payment, in order to plan delivery.
We may need to pass on your first and last names to a third party (our delivery personnel or suppliers, for example) in order to deliver the goods to you.
We may retain data relating to your orders, in particular for accounting and warranty purposes.
Right of access to personal data:
If you wish to exercise your right of access to your personal data, for the following items:
- Whether or not your data is actually processed.
- The purpose for which your data is processed.
- The nature of the data.
- Data origin.
- The category of recipients to whom the data is provided.
As the data controller, we provide you with this information in a comprehensible form. Access to the law is free of charge.
To exercise your right of access, please send us a written request, enclosing a copy of your identity card ( map ).
The request must also meet a series of formal requirements. In accordance with the Privacy Act, the request must be dated and signed and sent by post or electronic means, but can also be delivered in person.
If these conditions are met, the request will be processed within a maximum of 45 days of receipt.
5. No prior application to the Privacy Commission required
What not to declare?
A number of very common treatments are exempt from the declaration requirement under the Royal Decree of February 13, 2001. They are listed below:
Accounting (art. 53 AR), provided :
- That it relates to data used exclusively for accounting purposes;
- That the processing only concerns persons whose data are required for accounting purposes
- That the data are not kept beyond the time necessary for the purpose of the processing
- That the data is not disclosed to third parties (except in the context of the application of a regulatory or legal provision or insofar as disclosure is essential for accounting purposes).
Customer and supplier management (art. 55 AR), provided :
Whether the file concerns potential, current or former customers or suppliers;
- That the file does not relate to data concerning the health of the person concerned, or to sensitive or judicial data;
- That the data is not kept beyond the time necessary for the normal management of the company;
- That no personal data on customers is recorded on the basis of information obtained from third parties, and that data is not communicated to third parties (except in the context of the application of a legal or regulatory provision or for the purposes of normal business management).
Processing carried out for the sole purpose of contacting the data subject (art. 57 AR) provided that:
- That the data will not be communicated to third parties;
- That they are not kept longer than is necessary for the purpose of the processing.
6. Cookies
A cookie is a computer file in text format that is stored on your hard drive when you visit a website such as Copernicus Maps.
The cookies we use enable us to store data about you so that we can personalize and facilitate your browsing experience on future visits (e.g. pages visited, date and time).
They also enable our partners to offer you targeted advertising based on your browsing habits.
A cookie does not allow us to identify you; it only records your IP address (your computer's identification number).
Cookies are enabled by default, but you can deactivate them directly on your browser, or choose which service cookies you wish to keep.
